Agreed with Dariowm, you didnt say what you think about the movie :S. I liked it, just to waste time lol i actually dont watch movies or tv shows, i read.

it was a good film. aaliyah will be eternally remembered as the queen of the damned. i have my own vamp story line but i haven't finished writing the whole plot yet.

Nothing beats the book. And this is NOT the best adaptation. But I still like it very much as if it had nothing to do with the book. Stuart Townsend is a good vampire (notice that I didn't say he is a good Lestat) and the soundtrack is pretty amazing I think

The books are almost impossible to film. Most of them don't have a traditional plot per se - rather a series of linked historical sketches. Interview with the Vampire had the benefit of being shorter, and punchier and indeed, more memorable. The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned were far more sprawling. Engaging, but not exactly cinematic.

So by making Queen of the Damned, and not Lestat, there was far less of a built in "hook" to the story. Stuart Townsend is pretty cool, but he would have been even cooler if he had a previous movie to set the character up.

The film looked amazing - sumptuous and decadent, but it needed to be more amazing. The soundtrack is fun too. But the whole lot left me feeling cold.

(Also Vincent Perez is extremely watchable in everything he's in)
